“We woke up excited knowing we would return to Mestalla”

Valencia CF provided free bus service for VCF Season Ticket Holders from the municipalities most affected by the flash floods.

The Valencia CF vs. Real Betis match was a historic and special event that will forever remain in the hearts of Valencia fans. The tragic flooding on October 29 severely impacted numerous municipalities in the Valencian Community, home to a large number of VCF Season Ticket Holders.

“We woke up excited, knowing we could return to the Camp de Mestalla. Around 10:50 a.m., we left home to catch the bus straight to Mestalla. We’ve lost all our family cars, so Valencia CF providing buses was such a relief. It’s been really moving to see how the entire fanbase and the Club came together to help us—it was emotional,” said Laia Lorente, a fan from Catarroja.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support those affected by the DANA, Valencia CF organized free bus services to help fans from these devastated areas attend the match and enjoy their beloved team once again.

“The next day, when you walked down the street, you could already see the destruction everywhere. Everything from your childhood, everything, was shattered. There was almost nothing you could do. It means a lot that Valencia CF helped us, and it’s a joy to be able to return to football. Little by little, we’ll rebuild everything,” said Izan Espinosa, a fan from Alfafar.

A total of 43,975 Valencianistas cheered on their team, savoring a victory that provided a brief respite from the nightmare caused by the catastrophic flooding. The win was dedicated to and in memory of all the victims and those affected by the devastating disaster.
